Abbotsford Middle alternate energy project launched a new alternate energy project that drives a computer lab at Abbotsford Middle School.  Three alternate energy sources are in place at the school – a wind turbine, solar panels and a bicycle driven generator—supply power for the lab and the school grid.  New technology allows two computers to power 12 stations, resulting in even more power savings. The project recently received local, provincial and national media coverage, and appears to be the only such powered lab in Canada.
